Marble Furniture, Cut and Book-Matched to Your Room

Marble is the surface a room is judged by. We cut it from full slabs rather than buying pre-cut tops, which means the veining can be book-matched across a joint, the edge profile is yours to choose, and the size is your room's, not a factory's. Italian and Indian stone, honed or polished, on tables, consoles, vanities and floors.

Marble, Explained Plainly

What it is, what it does well, what it does not, and how to look after it. Written by the people who cut it.

Book-matching: why the veins line up

When a block of marble is sliced, two neighbouring slabs are near mirror images of each other. Open them like a book and the veins run out from the joint in both directions, so a wide top reads as one piece of stone instead of two.

It only works if you buy the block, keep the slabs together and cut them yourself. That is what our own factory is for. A top made from two unrelated off-the-shelf pieces will never do it.

Honed or polished

Polished marble is glossy. It shows the colour at its deepest and it reflects the light in a room, which makes a dining table feel formal. It also shows every fingerprint and every etch mark.

Honed marble is matt. It is softer to look at, hides small marks, and is the safer choice for a kitchen island, a bathroom vanity or a home with children. We finish either way — you decide once you have seen both in your own light, which is why we send samples.

Italian and Indian marble

Italian stone — Statuario, Calacatta, Carrara — is white with grey or gold veining and is what most people picture. Indian stone is quarried closer, costs less to land, and includes greens, blacks and beiges that Italy does not have.

Neither is better. A room decides. We show you both, in the size you need, before you spend anything.

Looking after a marble top

Marble is calcium. Anything acidic — lemon, vinegar, wine, tomato, most bathroom cleaners — will etch it, which is a dull mark rather than a stain. Wipe spills quickly, use coasters, and clean with warm water and a soft cloth.

We seal every top before delivery. Reseal it about once a year on a working surface, less on a table that is only laid for dinner.

Black Marble Side Table

Black stone · gold hourglass base

Dark, glossy and a little dramatic. A black precious-stone top with natural white veining rests on a curved gold pedestal that flows like an hourglass. Every top is one of a kind, because the stone decides the pattern — not us. That is what makes it truly yours.

VQuestions

Questions People Ask About Marble

Plain answers, from the workshop floor.

What is book-matched marble?

Two slabs cut from the same block and opened like a book, so their veining mirrors across the joint. Used on a wide table top or a console front, it makes the stone read as one continuous piece. It is only possible when the maker buys and cuts whole slabs, which is what we do.

Should I choose honed or polished marble?

Polished for depth of colour and reflected light, on a piece that is mostly looked at. Honed for a matt surface that hides small marks, on anything that gets daily use — a kitchen island, a bathroom vanity, a family dining table. We send samples of both so you can see them in your own light.

Does marble stain?

It etches more than it stains. Acids like lemon, vinegar and wine eat a dull patch into the polish. Sealing slows absorption and makes spills easy to wipe, but no sealer stops etching — the fix is a coaster and a quick wipe. We seal every top before it leaves the factory.

Can you match marble I already have in the room?

Usually, yes. Send a photograph of the existing stone in daylight and we look for a slab that sits with it. Where an exact match is not available we will say so rather than send you something close but wrong.

Is delivery free?

Yes, and it stays free — no end date, no minimum. We deliver your piece to your door anywhere in mainland India, crate, freight, transit cover, e-way bill and GST included. Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep go by sea at actual cost; outside India is quoted per port.

Is there a minimum order for free delivery?

No. There is no minimum, no remote-area fee and no fuel surcharge. One bedside table travels on the same free terms as a twelve-piece bedroom, to Mumbai or to Leh, and the crate is built around your finished piece.
