The marble does the talking here. Each top is cut from one slab of Italian Patagonia, so the grey veining runs unbroken across the whole surface, polished to a high gloss. Everything below it is designed to stay out of the way: the body is panelled in textured cream leather rather than painted wood, banded with slim metal inlays, and the base steps out in tiers finished in satin metallic paint. That stepped plinth is what gives the table its architecture when you look at it from a low chair. Solid wood carries the load underneath. Made by hand in our India workshop, in your size and your slab.

It is a natural stone known for bold, branching grey veining across a pale ground. Because the pattern is dramatic, we show you the actual slab and mark where we plan to cut before anything is done.
Is leather sensible on a coffee table body?
On the sides, yes — it takes knocks better than paint and it does not chip. We would not put it on the top, which is why the top is stone.
