This is two pieces pretending to be one, and both halves earn their place. The ivory table is finished in a mirror-like high gloss and shaped with no straight line on it, sweeping over a round ottoman upholstered in ribbed terracotta leather with vertical channel stitching. Nested, they read as a single sculptural form. Pulled apart, you have a hard surface for glasses and a soft one for a guest to sit on — which is what you actually need when six people arrive and there are four chairs. The ottoman rests on a fluted antique brass ring that picks up the stitching above it. Made by hand in our India workshop, in your gloss colour and your leather.

Can I buy just one of the two pieces?
Yes. They are designed to interlock but each works alone. Most living rooms take both, because the ottoman doubles as seating when you are short of chairs.
Does a high gloss finish scratch easily?
It shows fingerprints more than a matte finish and it needs a coaster under anything with a rough base. It is a hard-wearing PU coat, not lacquer, so ordinary use is fine — but this is not the table to drag a ceramic pot across.
