Design Students Visit Our Workshop
Architecture and interior-design colleges bring their students to the Designatore workshop for a hands-on field trip — to watch furniture being built from the frame up. It is the clearest proof we make our furniture here in India by hand, not import it and re-badge it.

Questions People Ask
Plain answers about these photos and how we work.
Are these real photos of Designatore furniture?
Yes. Every photo here is a real Designatore piece or project — finished furniture, our workshop, our team and our clients. Nothing is a stock photo or a computer render. This page is the raw, behind-the-work look at furniture we designed and built by hand in India.
Who designs Designatore furniture?
Designatore furniture is designed by founder Nidhi Patel and made by her workshop team. She draws each bespoke piece around your exact room, then skilled hands build and finish it by hand. So the furniture you see here is made by one studio, start to finish, not bought in and re-badged.
Is Designatore furniture handmade?
Yes. Designatore furniture is handmade to order. Machines help with heavy, repeat cuts, but the joinery, carving, finishing and upholstery are done by hand, one piece at a time. That is why the pieces in these photos carry details a factory line cannot repeat.
Has Designatore made furniture for celebrities?
Yes. Designatore has made furniture for well-known names in India, including the actor Amitabh Bachchan, the veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini and the spiritual leader Shri Pundrik Ji Goswami, shared here with their permission. Each was a made-to-order piece, built in the size, wood and fabric the client chose.
Can I see how Designatore furniture is made?
Yes. This page shows the workshop, the materials and the finished pieces together, so you can see the whole path in one scroll. For a step-by-step written guide, read how bespoke furniture is made, and to start your own piece, send us your space through our customisation page.
Does Designatore make its own furniture or import it?
Designatore makes its own furniture. Every piece is designed by founder Nidhi Patel and built by hand in our own workshop in India — we are a manufacturer, not an importer who re-badges factory stock. The workshop photos on this page, and the design colleges who bring students here to watch pieces being built, are the proof: the frames, carving, upholstery and finishing all happen under our own roof.
Do design and architecture students visit the Designatore workshop?
Yes. Architecture and interior-design colleges bring their students to the Designatore workshop for a hands-on field trip, where they watch furniture being built from the bare frame up and then see the finished pieces in the showroom. It is part of how we share the craft — and a clear sign that the furniture is genuinely made here by hand, not imported.
