What materials does Designatore make furniture from?

Onyx and semi-precious stone, marble, brass and metal, solid wood and burl veneer, velvet and bouclé, leather, and hand-sprayed lacquer. Most pieces mix two or three of them — a stone top on a wood frame with a brass line between the two is the house shape.

Can I choose the exact material and finish?

Yes, on every piece. Nothing here is a fixed product with a fixed specification. You pick the stone, the wood, the fabric and the metal finish, and we show you samples and the actual slab before anything is cut.

Can you match materials to what is already in my room?

Usually, yes. Send a photograph in daylight of the wood, stone or fabric you already have, and we match the tone, grain and finish so the new furniture sits like it was always there. Where an exact match is not possible we say so rather than send you something close but wrong.

Which materials last longest in the Indian climate?

Teak, properly seasoned hardwood, marble and full-grain leather all outlast the room around them. What shortens the life of any of them is the same three things: direct sun, an air-conditioner blowing straight onto a surface, and a household cleaner used on something that needed a soft cloth.
