What is turnkey interior design?
Turnkey means one company does everything and hands you a finished home — design, civil and carpentry work, false ceilings, lighting, flooring, panelling, painting, furniture and the final styling. You deal with one team and one plan instead of eight vendors. That is how Designatore works, and the film on this page shows a full turnkey project from bare structure to finished rooms.
What is included in a full home interior project?
A full home project covers the layout, the false ceilings and lighting, wall panelling and wallpaper, flooring, marble and semi-precious stone work, wardrobes and storage, the kitchen and bathroom fit-out, and every piece of loose furniture — sofas, beds, dining, consoles and side tables. Curtains, mirrors and the final dressing of each room are part of it too.
How much does luxury interior design cost in India?
There is no fixed rate, because no two homes are the same size or finish. The cost depends on the area, how much civil and carpentry work is needed, and the materials — solid wood, marble, semi-precious stone, brass and fabric all move the number. Send us your floor plan and we will give you a written, itemised estimate before anything starts. You pay in stages, not all at once.
How long does a full home interior project take?
We set the timeline with you at the first drawing and give it to you in writing, rather than publish a number here. Every project is drawn to your home, so the size, the site, the materials and the level of hand work decide the dates — and we would rather commit to dates we can keep. One plan keeps every room on the same timeline, so the home is finished together instead of arriving in pieces over a year.
Do I see a design before the work starts?
Yes. You see the layout, the materials and realistic 3D views of each room before we cut anything. Nothing is built until you approve the drawing, the finish and the price.
Can you redo an existing home without breaking everything?
Yes. Most of our homes are lived in, not empty shells. We can work room by room, keep what is worth keeping, and match new panelling, wardrobes and furniture to the wood and colours you already have — down to the inch and the shade.
Do you make the furniture yourself, or buy it in?
We make it. This is the difference between us and most interior designers: an interior firm usually orders your furniture from someone else, so the sofa arrives in a fabric that does not quite match the panelling. Our furniture is built in our own 80,000 sq ft factory, to the same drawing as the room, in the same wood and colour.
Which cities do you take interior projects in?
We take projects across India — including Kolkata, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur and Goa — and we work with clients overseas, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE and Singapore. We design remotely, make in our own workshop in India, and send our team to install.
Can you do only the interiors if someone else built the house?
Yes. Most of our work starts with a house or flat that already exists. We take it from bare shell or from a lived-in home and do the interiors and the furniture. If you also want the building itself designed, that is our architecture side.
