A Private Residence, Furnished and Finished End to End
This home was ours to shape from bare walls to the last cushion. We drew the furniture, chose the stone and wood, planned the lighting and dressed every room so the whole house reads as one calm, warm hand. What you see here is real — no styling for the camera, just the home the day we finished it.
The Making of the Kolkata Home
This film follows one luxury home in Kolkata from bare structure to finished rooms — the architecture, the interior design and every piece of furniture, all by Designatore. One team drew it, made it by hand in our own workshop in India, and fitted it on site.
Architecture: the staircase, ceilings and panelling
The bones came first. We shaped the staircase, the ceilings, the arches and the wall panelling before a single sofa was drawn. The staircase is hand-painted on site by our own artists — nothing printed, nothing stuck on — so the stair becomes the artwork the whole house turns around.
Interior design: one colour story in every room
Living room, dining, bedrooms, pooja room and foyer share one palette, one wood and one metal. That is why the home reads calm instead of busy. We planned the lighting, the flooring, the marble and the semi-precious stone in the same drawing set as the furniture, so nothing had to be matched later.
Bespoke furniture: made for the room it stands in
Every bed, sofa, dining table, wardrobe and console in this home was made to order for its exact wall and its exact use — built by hand in our workshop, finished, checked, then delivered and installed by our own team. Nothing was bought off a floor and squeezed in.

Does Designatore do interior design?

We design remotely, ship from our own workshop in India, and send our team to install.
