The short version
If you read one thing, read this table. The rest of the page is the same promises with the detail filled in.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Do you track me? | No. No analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no profiling. |
| Cookies? | One of ours — it remembers rupees or dollars. Nothing else. |
| Where do the calculator figures go? | Nowhere. The cost calculator runs inside your own browser. |
| Do you sell my data? | Never. Not sold, not rented, not shared for advertising. |
| Who else sees it? | Only the transporter, the fitting team and the bank, and only what they need. |
| How long do you keep it? | Two years for an enquiry, eight years for an order — tax law asks for that. |
| How do I get it deleted? | One email. The letter is already written for you. |
Who handles your data
Designatore, a luxury furniture manufacturer, at S No. 336/P/2, B/H Banco, Bhayli Bil Road, Near Gaukhana Distributary Canal, Village Bil, Vadodara, Gujarat 391410, India. In the words of the DPDP Act we are the data fiduciary and you are the data principal — we decide why your details are held, and you keep the rights over them. This policy covers designatore.com and the phone, WhatsApp and email lines we answer.
What personal data we collect
Only what you hand us. That is your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and pincode, plus whatever you tell us about the room and the piece you want — sizes, photos, drawings, a budget. For a confirmed order we also hold the billing details and GST number the invoice needs. We do not buy lists and we do not build profiles.
There is one thing we receive without you typing it, and we would rather say so than let you find out: the server that sends you this page keeps a short access log. That is described below.
The cost calculator
The China-versus-India landed-cost calculator runs inside your own browser. The rate tables ship with the page, so the sums happen on your device — nothing you type is sent to us, stored or logged. If you send us the result, you do that yourself from WhatsApp or email, and you can edit or delete the message before it goes. We used to run a pincode delivery calculator as well; it is gone, because delivery inside India is now free and there is nothing left to work out.
The lookbook and the journal
We do not run mailing-list software, and we will not pretend otherwise. When you type your address into the lookbook or journal box, your own email app opens with the request written out. Nothing leaves your device until you press send, and if you change your mind you close the draft. Your address then sits in our inbox and is used to send you the lookbook and nothing else. Ask us to stop and we stop — no unsubscribe maze, because there is no machinery to escape.
Cookies on this website
One cookie belongs to us. It is not a tracking cookie, it holds no identifier, and it never leaves this site.
| Cookie | Set by | What it holds | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| cur | Designatore | Whether you chose rupees or dollars | One year |
| Google Maps cookies | Google's own map and abuse-prevention data | Set by Google when the map loads | |
| YouTube cookies | YouTube (no-cookie mode) | Playback data, only if you press play | Set by YouTube on playback |
The last two are not ours and we get nothing from them — see the next section. There is no analytics cookie, no tag manager, no advertising or remarketing cookie, and no consent banner, because we set nothing that needs consent.
Server logs
This website runs on our own server rather than an advertising platform. Like every web server, it writes a line each time a page is requested: the IP address, the time, the page asked for and the browser used. That counts as personal data, so here is the honest position — we do not read those logs to study visitors, we do not join them to anything else, and we do not build a profile from them. They exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse, and they are kept for about thirty days and then rotated away.
We do count one thing from our own records. Each time an enquiry form is sent, our server writes a line saying which page the form was on, which state it came from, how many files were attached, how long the message was, and whether it sent. A small business that cannot see which of its pages actually help people is guessing. Those lines are counts, nothing more — they never carry your name, your email address, your phone number, your city, your message or your IP address, they are not joined to anything else, and no profile of you can be built from them. There is still no analytics tag on this site, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, and no outside company receiving any of it.
Third parties and embeds
This is the complete list of outside services this site or this business puts your data in front of. There is nothing hidden behind it.
| Who | What they can see | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google Maps | Your IP address and browser when a map loads | The map of our factory in the footer and on the contact page |
| YouTube | Your IP address, and playback data if you press play | Films of the workshop, embedded in no-cookie mode |
| Our email provider | Whatever you write to us | It carries and stores the email you send |
| Your number and your messages | You chose to message us there | |
| Transport and fitting partners | Your name, delivery address and phone number | They bring the piece to your door and install it |
| Our bank and payment gateway | Payment and invoice details | Taking payment and issuing a GST invoice |
No advertising network, no data broker, no analytics company and no AI training service is on that list, and we do not intend to add one. Our social links open Instagram, Facebook or YouTube in a new tab — once you are there, their policies apply, not ours.
Who else sees your details
Inside Designatore, only the people working on your job. Outside, only the partners in the table above, and they get the minimum — usually a name, an address and a phone number — for that one delivery. We never sell or trade your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We hand data to a government authority only where a written law requires it.
Photographs of your space
If you send us a photo or a drawing of your room, we use it to design your piece and nothing else. We never publish a customer's home without asking first, in writing, for that specific photograph. Many of the homes we furnish are private in a way that goes beyond data protection law, so we set the whole commitment out separately — read the client confidentiality pledge.
How long we keep it
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| An enquiry that never became an order | About two years from your last message | So we can pick up where we left off if you come back |
| Order records: invoices, GST, drawings, delivery notes | Eight years | Indian tax and company law asks us to hold them |
| Warranty and service notes | The life of the warranty, plus a year | So we can honour a claim years later |
| Photos and drawings of your room | The life of the project | Designing and building the piece |
| Lookbook and journal emails | Until you tell us to stop | Sending you the lookbook |
| Server access logs | About thirty days | Keeping the site up and spotting abuse |
Ask us to delete your details sooner and we will, apart from anything the law says we must keep. When a period ends the record is deleted, not archived quietly.
How we keep your data safe
Access is limited to the staff who need it, accounts are password-protected, and the site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever put your data at risk we would tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the DPDP Act requires. Please do not send card numbers, passwords or ID scans over WhatsApp or email — we will never ask for them that way, and anyone who does is not us.
Your rights, and how to use them
The DPDP Act gives you these rights and we honour them for everyone, wherever you live. Each one below opens an email with the letter already written — fill in your name and press send. We answer within thirty days, and there is no charge.
- See what we hold. Ask us for a copy of everything we have about you, and who we shared it with. Ask for a copy →
- Fix or complete it. Tell us what is wrong or missing and we correct it. Ask for a correction →
- Have it deleted. Once the job is done and the legal keeping period has passed, we erase it. Ask us to delete →
- Withdraw your consent. Stop the lookbook, stop the follow-up calls, stop all of it — at any time, no reason needed. Withdraw consent →
- Name someone to act for you. You can nominate a person to use these rights on your behalf if you die or cannot act yourself. Name a nominee →
- Complain. Unhappy with our answer? Write to our grievance officer, then to the Data Protection Board of India. Write to the grievance officer →
If your mail app does not open, write to [email protected] yourself with “Data request” in the subject line, or call +91 94260 73781. We may ask one question to check you are who you say you are, so that nobody else can ask for your data.
Grievance officer
Privacy complaints go to our grievance officer: [email protected], or +91 94260 73781 and +91 90990 14328, or by post to the factory address at the top of this page. We reply within thirty days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This site is meant for adults buying furniture. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under eighteen, we never track or advertise to children, and we do not build profiles of them. A child's details reach us only through a parent or guardian who is arranging furniture. If a child has sent us something, tell us and we delete it.
If you write from outside India
We are an Indian company and your details are held and processed in India. If you are in the UK or the European Union, we handle your enquiry because you asked us to and because we need it to quote for or fulfil a contract with you. The UK and EU rules give you the same rights listed above — access, correction, erasure, objection, restriction and a copy of your data in a portable form — and you may complain to your own data protection authority. Email us and we act on it the same way as any other request.
Changes and version history
This version took effect on 24 August 2026. If we change how we handle your data we update this page and move that date. Anything that materially affects a current customer we tell you directly, rather than leaving it here to be found.
| Date | Change |
|---|---|
| 24 August 2026 | Said plainly that when an enquiry form is sent, our server writes a line counting it — which page it came from, which state, how many files, how long the message was, and whether it sent. No name, email, phone, city, message or IP address is in those lines. No analytics tag, tag manager or advertising pixel has been added, and none will be. |
| 28 July 2026 | Removed the pincode delivery calculator and everything about it — delivery inside India is free, so no tool on this site asks for a pincode any more. We still take your delivery address, including its pincode, when you place an order. |
| 27 July 2026 | Added server logs, the cookie and third-party tables, retention periods, one-tap data requests and this history. Corrected the note about where the Google map appears. |
| 26 July 2026 | First published. |
