Mixing looks simple in a photo. In the workshop, it is hard, slow work. Stone and wood do not move the same way. Wood swells and shrinks with the weather. Stone does not. Metal grows warm in the sun. 3. We build a hidden metal or wood frame to carry the heavy stone.
4. We leave the wood room to breathe, so it can move without cracking the stone.
5. We shape the metal lines and finish them soft, never sharp.
6. We upholster the velvet last, over a firm frame, so it holds its shape for years.
7. We test every joint by hand before the piece leaves the atelier.

Most signature pieces take about 10 to 16 weeks to make. Rare stone can add time, because we may wait for the right slab. We never rush the work. Stone, wood and metal each need their own time to be shaped and joined by hand, and good joints cannot be hurried. We share a clear timeline with you before we begin, so there are no surprises.
