This is the chair that fixes a dull corner. The body is a barrel back in rich mustard chenille that wraps around you, deep enough in colour to hold a corner on its own, with a loose bolster for the lower back. Then down each inner arm there is a panel of floral embroidery on black, worked in pink, gold and green — the one place on the chair where the handwork is unmistakable, and the reason it does not read as just another orange armchair. It turns on a solid drum base in antique brass with an etched texture, so it can face the window, the fire or the room without being dragged across the floor. Made by hand in our India workshop, in your fabric and your embroidery.
