Where the chowki chair sits low, this one sits tall. The back sweeps upward in a single carved curve of foliate scrollwork and finishes in a rosette medallion — all cut by hand in solid wood, then finished in a radiant gold-beige tone that lifts the grain instead of burying it under metallic paint. The seat is round and deeply button-tufted in olive velvet, every button pulled and tied by hand so the depth holds. Below it, a bead trim and a scalloped apron carry the proportion down to carved cabriole legs on ball-and-claw feet. It is a full-height chair for someone who cannot sit on the floor at all. Made by hand in our India workshop, in your fabric.

Height. The chowki chair is low so you stay close to the ground during pooja. This one is a full-height seat, for someone who cannot get down to floor level at all. Some families keep both.

Yes. The olive velvet shown is one option. We upholster in your fabric and colour, and we show you the real material against the gold-beige wood before we build.
