The back rises well above head height and curves into a soft crown, so from the door the chair reads as a single sculptural shape rather than a seat. Red velvet is the whole point: put it against a dark panelled wall and the entrance needs nothing else. The arms are kept low and rolled so getting in and out stays easy.
